Testimony and Prayer Update

May, 2024

When we ask God to bring people to Himself, . . .

. . . sometimes we wait for weeks, months, or even years for the answer. But the seed of the Gospel can take time to sprout and grow. As we in ICT train, pray with, and encourage our learners in their own outreach, they share stories like this:

However, B's wife was not present at the time. When she found out about his decision, she wanted to divorce him, fearing the consequences of being ostracized by their Muslim community. Unwilling to lose his marriage, B wavered in his faith and backslid for two weeks. When G visited and learned what had happened, he prayed for B and left.

Two weeks later, B had a vision of a man dressed in white, who told him that the new way was the truth and warned that if B did not follow it, he would die. Deeply shaken, B woke his wife in the middle of the night and told her about the vision, declaring that he must follow Christ. He said, "If you want to divorce me, divorce me. If you want to return to your family, you can." Moved by his conviction, his wife replied, "If you saw this vision from God, I want to accept Christ too."

The next day, both of them went to G to be baptized. Over time, B's wife became a deacon. Today, B and his wife diligently study the Bible and share the Good News, leading many Muslims to Christ.

One day, ICT learner G and his friend H went to visit B, a sick and bedridden man, at a refugee camp in South Sudan. They shared the Good News with him, but B, a Muslim, was not very open to the Gospel. When they offered to pray for him, he reluctantly said, "Just pray and go away." They prayed briefly and left.

A year later, someone approached G and brought him to B’s home. Curious, G asked B why he had sent for him. B replied, "I need your Jesus. Your Jesus healed me." G then asked if he wanted to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior, to which B responded, "Yes." G prayed with B and his children.

Please pray:

  • For God’s continued grace (love and power) for G., B., and B.’s wife’s work among the Sudanese refugees.

  • For much fruit in our learner’s lives, for salvation and transformation to reach the unreached and all those around them.
